Peter H Pokrywka

Peter H. Pokrywka, age 70 of New Milford, CT passed away peacefully on November 16, 2022 surrounded by his wife and daughters.

Pete was born on December 28, 1951, to the late Henry Pokrywka and Virginia “Beatty” Pokrywka. He is survived by his wife of 41 years, Cindy, daughters Katrina Zagars of Colorado Springs, Kelly Pokrywka and Michelle Agee and husband, Bobby of New Milford and their children Riley, Ryan and Lilliana. In addition, Pete is survived by his sister Elizabeth “Liz” Peet and husband Charlie, niece Lisa Savoy and nephew Ronald Peet.

Pete worked for KimberlyClark Corporation in New Milford for over 40 years as a Process Specialist before retirement. He was a sports enthusiast and played many years in the New Milford Men’s Softball League and local bowling leagues, bowling several perfect games of 300. He loved the Dodgers, Rams and UConn Women’s Basketball, and was known to place friendly wagers on games. He had a passion he shared with his father for horse racing from a young age and never missed watching a Triple Crown race.

He was loved by both family and friends, and was a devoted and loving husband, father, and grandfather.

Per his wishes, immediate family will gather in remembrance privately.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to The United Methodist Church in New Milford, CT of which recently he was baptized, or Yale New Haven Hospital to support trials and research associated with finding a cure for brain cancer.
