NAUGATUCK — The search for Christopher Francisquini, wanted for allegedly killing and dismembering his 11-monthold daughter, entered its sixth day on Wednesday.

Police have provided few details about the manhunt, but the Naugatuck Police Department said it is working with the FBI and the Connecticut State Police Violent Crimes Task Force.

“At this time, the investigation is ongoing (and) specific details cannot be released,” the police department’s public information officer said in an email Wednesday afternoon. “We continue to work with local, state and federal partners in this search. Any additional updates will be provided to the media and the public as they become available.”

State police and a spokesperson with the FBI referred inquiries to the Naugatuck Police Department. As of Wednesday, the U.S. Marshal’s Violent Fugitive Task Force has not been officially requested to help in the case.

The FBI is also offering a $10,000 reward for information leading to Francisquini’s arrest and conviction.

Last Friday morning, Naugatuck police were called to his home on Millville Avenue where they found the man’s daughter, Camilla Francisquini, dismembered. The 11-monthold child died from neck compression and stab wounds, according to the state Office of the Chief Medical Examiner.

Francisquini had fled Naugatuck in a gray Chevrolet Impala, police said. The car was later found abandoned on Interstate 91 in New Haven, according to police.

Francisquini may have fled into the woods after leaving the vehicle, according to tips police received from people who saw someone matching the man’s description.

Naugatuck Police Chief Colin McAllister said several people also reported seeing a man fitting his description around 4 p.m. Friday on Quinnipiac Avenue in New Haven.

McAllister warned the public not to approach Francisquini, saying he is considered armed and dangerous. Francisquini has ties to Naugatuck, New Haven and Waterbury, according to McAllister.

The Naugatuck Police Department has obtained a warrant for Francisquini’s arrest that charges him with murder with special circumstances and risk of injury to a minor. When captured, he will be held on a $5 million bond.

At the time of the incident, Francisquini was on special parole for a first-degree assault conviction. Police said he cut off an electronic monitoring device from his ankle after the killing.

Francisquini was charged with an assault in 2012 when he attacked a man at a barbershop. The assault occurred after a drug deal turned into a robbery and the victim spent several days in the intensive care unit undergoing surgery for injuries to his head and face. Francisquini was later sentenced to 10 years in prison, but he was released on supervised parole in 2020.

While on supervised parole, he racked up further charges in multiple jurisdictions in November 2021, including carjacking a hospital employee and using an officer’s pepper spray to try to escape custody, according to incident reports.

After these charges, Francisquini was remanded to prison to finish the remaining seven months of his 10-year prison sentence. He was released from the 10-year prison sentence in June, but remained incarcerated for the pending cases. He was later released from custody and into special parole on June 27 after he posted bonds totaling more than $375,0000 for the pending cases, records from the state Department of Correction show.

Anyone with information regarding Francisquini’s whereabouts can call the Naugatuck Police Department at 203-729-5221. Confidential tips may be submitted by calling 203720-1010.
