‘Just heartbreaking’
‘Caring’ Brookfield employee dies at 75 after medical emergency at Town Hall
BROOKFIELD — A beloved Town Hall employee working in the town’s tax collector’s office died suddenly Monday after suffering a medical emergency while working at her desk.
Brookfield EMS crews responded to Town Hall on Monday just before 11 a.m. for a report of a medical emergency in the Brookfield Tax Assessor’s office, according to Brookfield Volunteer Fire Co. #1 Chief Andrew Ellis.
Anne Trenck, 75, was transported to the hospital where she later passed away. A Brookfield resident, she worked at Town Hall as an assistant tax collector.
At the end of what she said was a “heartbreaking” and “difficult week,” First Selectwoman Tara Carr remembered Trenck as, “a kind and caring person that was on display at every moment that she was serving our community as a member of our tax collector’s office.”
“She was an all-around good person and will be missed tremendously. My thoughts are with her friends and family at this time of mourning and sadness. My deepest condolences to all who love her,” Carr added.
Selectman Steve Dunn said Trenck, “was a really nice person and will be missed.”
According to an obituary posted on the Brookfield Funeral Home website, Trenck is survived by her sons Jeffery, and his wife Kimberly, and Robert, and his wife Theresa, along with her grandchildren Jessalyn, Kristina, Peter, and David, and her great grandchild, Victoria.
“A staple in the Brookfield Town Hall, she will be missed by many,” the obituary adds.
Calling hours for Trenck’s funeral services will be held at the Brookfield Funeral Home from 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, according to an obituary. The family asks that donations be made to the Brookfield Food Bank in lieu of flowers.
