Handel’s Messiah to be performed
St. Andrew’s Music in the
Nave series presents its annual performance of Handel’s Messiah, with James Sinclair conducting the Sherman Chamber Ensemble and guest soloists. The concert will be held at 8 p.m. Friday, Dec. 9 at St. Andrew’s Parish in Kent.
As always, audience members are invited to sing the choral parts and will be provided scores. George Frideric Handel’s Messiah, a monumental work for voices and orchestra, has been thrilling audiences since its Dublin premiere in 1742. This performance will include Part One (the Nativity) and the celebrated “Hallelujah Chorus.” Lisabeth Miller (soprano), Meredith Ziegler (mezzo), Paul Patinka (tenor), and Joseph McDonough (bass) are the vocal soloists; Laurel Larsen plays organ.
