(CC) NBCS IMSA Weathertech Sportscar Championship RSN College Football From Sept. 20, Saturday Eight years after his first “Golden” handshake, Patrick Cantlay got another with a monumental final round at the 2019 Memorial Tournament. Down four shots going into Sunday, the 28-year-old Californian turned in a performance for the ages, playing bogeyfree golf and birdying eight holes, including an 18-foot putt on the 72nd hole to finish with an 8-under 64, the lowest final round score in tournament history. His two-stroke victory over a faltering Martin Kaymer was the second of his PGA career and earned him a handshake from the Golden Bear himself, Jack Nicklaus, the tournament’s founder and host. “I finished it,” he told Nicklaus as he walked off the 18th green. He first met the Golden Bear in 2011, when he won the Jack Nicklaus Award as the top college player when he was at UCLA. Going into Sunday’s action, he used a bit of advice Nicklaus gave him to help him focus – just relax and enjoy the surroundings. And that he did. His win with a 19-under 269 moved him up to sixth in the FedEx Cup standings and somewhat atoned for his failure the year before, when he blew a two-shot lead on the back nine to miss a playoff. This year, he putted for birdie on every hole on the back nine. He’ll return to Muirfield Village Golf Club in Dublin, Ohio, to defend his title in the 2020 Memorial Tournament, which airs Thursday through Sunday, July 16-19, on Golf Channel and CBS. 2014. 9:30 a.m. KING Premier League Soccer: 3 p.m. KING The Short List CBUT Olympic Games Replay Teams TBA.
