Forty fleet of foot line up for Gold Dust Dash
Forty runners lined up Saturday morning on the shifting sands of East Beach for the annual Gold Dust Dash, one event the Covid-19 pandemic hasn’t been able to banish into non-existence.
Tobin Hobbs ran to victory by a margin of over two minutes in the men’s division, while Taylor Shepherd took the women’s title. The winner’s each won a gold nugget. Natallie Tobuk won the wild card gold nugget.
The race is sponsored every year by Norton Sound Health Corporation’s CAMP department. CAMP is the Chronic Care Active Management and Prevention department of NHSC. CAMP helps promote healthy lifestyles and prevents chronic illnesses such as diabetes.
