Anthony Robert Martin August 12, 1939 ~ July 26, 2021

Anthony Robert Martin (Tony), 81, of Anchorage, Alaska, passed away on July 26, 2021 from natural causes.

Tony was born on August 12, 1939 to Stanley and Josephine Martin (Garnie) in Nome, Alaska. Tony joined the Navy at a young age and served until 1962 when he was honorably discharged.

After his military service, Tony held numerous jobs in Nome including as a policeman for the Nome Police Department and as a part owner/cab driver for Q Cab.

Tony wed his sweetheart, Edna Johnsen in Nome and they had two children, Doreen and Angela.

After joining Local 302 as an Operating Engineer, he met his next life partner and love, Jill Parker. Tony and Jill had two children, Jason and Renee.

Tony retired from Local 302 after a 20-year career on the North Slope and settled in Anchorage. He enjoyed many hobbies, including working for several lawyers, investigat­ing cases for court proceeding­s.

Tony was pre-deceased by his parents, his ex-wife Edna, his life partner Jill Parker and siblings Dean Martin, Guy Martin, Gladys Cannon (honey-girl) and Mike Cannon.

He is survived by his children Doreen Schenkenbe­rger, Anchorage, AK., Daphne Tocktoo, Brevig Mission, AK., Jason Martin (Kristine) of Anchorage, AK., Angela James (Tim) and Leah Senungetuk Warburton (Gunny) of Nome, AK., and Renee Martin of Anchorage, AK. He also leaves behind many grandchild­ren, great grandchild­ren, nieces and nephews.

The family had a private service, burial will be at Fort Richardson.
