Diane Lucy Lincoln Chuvlin Sept. 18, 1997 ~ May 30, 2022

Diane Lucy Lincoln Chuvlin was born on September 18, 1997 to Davis and Ida Lincoln. Diane graduated from White Mountain High School in May 2016. During her high school years, she enjoyed skiing, volleyball and did well in Battle of the Books; she enjoyed reading.

Gertrude Apaiya Analoak November 17, 1940 - June 7, 2022

Gertrude Apaiya Analoak was born November 17, 1940, on King Island, Alaska, then moved to Nome, Alaska in 1958. Gertrude was the second oldest child of Louis and Margaret Seeganna. Her siblings are Peter,Theresa, Stan, Ricky, Stella, Ayek and Rosemary. Gertrude’s Eskimo name is after their grandmothe­r Apaiya.

Gertrude married Walter Cabinboy Analoak Sr. on September 24, 1961.

Gertrude spent her time making traditiona­l Native regalia such as oogithcalk, parkas, mukluks and crocheted blankets, hats, booties and gloves. When she was taking breaks

She excelled in NACTEC programs and ANSEP Summer Bridge after her senior year, where she traveled much of the southeast. She attended the University of Alaska Anchorage from 2016 to 2018.

Returning home, she started working with NSEDC at the fish counting tower near her family’s camp. She enjoyed and looked forward to doing this every summer. Her hobbies included baking and cooking for family and friend’s birthday and events. Her homemade signature chocolate cake and peanut butter frosting will be missed.

She read and kept up on various topics like sports, movies and the news. Always surprising family about football facts during the games. Diane and dogs had a special love and understand­ing for each other.

Diane is preceded in death by her great-grandmothe­r Lucy Lincoln, grandmothe­r Rosemary Lincoln, grandfathe­r Vernon Richards Sr., grandfathe­r Peter Buck and uncles Dean and Dennis Lincoln and Vernon Richards, Jr.

Diane leaves to cherish her memory her parents Davis and Ida; her siblings DeAnne, Tyler and Caitlyn; grandmothe­r Rita; aunts Lolene, Pretty and Tubby; uncles James, Harvey, Douglas, Bobby, Clement and Richard; and many cousins and relatives.

Diane will be lovingly remembered and greatly missed.

from her Native crafts she would make ooshavuqtu­g, went green/berry picking and preparing traditiona­l food and ensured we had frequent family gatherings with a taste of home. She was also a member of the King Island Dancers and had the honor of traveling to Cincinnati, OH, and Washington, D.C. to perform and share our culture with others.

In addition to her crafting abilities, she worked at the women’s shelter in Nome, Nome Elementary School cafeteria, receiving home, Polar Cub, Fort Davis Roadhouse and North Star Restaurant.

She also collaborat­ed with her mother, Margaret Seeganna in transcribi­ng and translatin­g “Ugiuvangmi­ut quliapyuit” King Island tales:

Eskimo History and Legends of Bering Strait’ in 1988, published by the Alaska Native Language Center, which is now recorded in the Smithsonia­n Libraries.

Gertrude was preceded in death by her mother and father, Margaret and Louis Seeganna; her five siblings Peter, Theresa, Stella, Ayek and Rosemary; her children Wally and Dolly; and her grandchild­ren Robin, Kevin, Roy, Jimmy Jr, and Eburlik.

She is survived by her brothers Stanley and Ricky; her husband Walter Cabinboy Analoak Sr; children Margaret (Bun-Bun), twins Delores and Doreen; Michelle, Christian and Walter Sr; and twenty grandchild­ren, 33 great-grandchild­ren; along with numerous cousins, nephews, nieces and their children.
