Obituaries
Dorothy Kiteguk Dickson was born April 19, 1936, to Dwight and May Tevuk in Wales. On February 24, 2024, she went home to be with family. She was the last surviving Tevuk when she went home.
She met and married Robert “Strom” Dickson in 1962 and soon after had her only child Robert Steven Dickson “Son-Son.” Their marriage ended in 1982.
Mom went to school up until the 8th grade in Wales, then moved to Teller and worked for the Blodgetts in her younger years. She moved to Nome and worked for U.S. Mercantile and later Northern Commercial Company as an accounting clerk, during that time she received her G.E.D. After retiring from NCC she worked for BSRHA. After she worked for the Woman’s Shelter where she .nally retired, but her work was never done. She cared for Brigette, Brenna, Briar, and Stephen, her grandchildren, endlessly.
She loved gathering subsistence foods, she harvested greens, berries, loved to .sh and work on marine mammals and taught her grandchildren how to harvest greens, berries and to cut up marine mammals to put away.
She loved to play Yahtzee, Scrabble, Aggravation, also loved to listen to Jim Reeves. She enjoyed having visitors and would make sure that they ate.
Mom was preceded in death by her parents Dwight and May Tevuk, sisters and brothers, .rst Dorothy, Ida, Lydia, Nellie, Josephine, Harrison, stillborn boy, Harriet, Lucille, adopted brother Robert “Bib” and grandson Briar Dickson.
She is survived by her son Robert Steven Dickson (Pamela Ablowaluk), (Daughter) Cheryl BergamaschiEarnshaw, Grandchildren Brigette Roof (Jon), Brenna Dickson and Stephen Ablowaluk. Great Granddaughter Kastilyn Sampson.
Her wishes were to be cremated and her ashes spread in Wales, Alaska.
We will have a Catholic service at a later date, to be announced.
