NCC TUITION MATCH AGREEMENT WITH CHARTER OAK STATE COLLEGE
Norwalk Community College is making it more affordable for its graduates to continue on for a bachelor’s degree. NCC and Charter Oak State College have signed a Community College Tuition Match Scholarship Agreement, in which Charter Oak will provide the last two years of a bachelor’s degree to NCC graduates at the community college tuition and fee rates in effect for that year. This agreement goes into effect for the fall 2018 semester.
“This agreement provides a financial incentive and flexible pathway for NCC students to complete their Associate degree and make the transition to Charter Oak for a baccalaureate degree,” NCC President David Levinson said. “Not only will our graduates save on tuition, but they also will be able to complete a B.A. online while working and or raising a family.”
For Connecticut residents, NCC tuition per credit is $163; Charter Oak tuition per credit is $298. (Fall 2018 rates; fees not included). Charter Oak State College is Connecticut’s public online college offering master’s, bachelor’s and associate degree programs and certificates.
In order to apply for the Tuition Match Scholarship, students must meet the following requirements: have a 2.3 or higher grade point average, completed the Associate degree; matriculate at Charter Oak within six months of completing an associate degree.
The Tuition Match Scholarship is good for five years. In order to maintain the scholarship, the student must be enrolled in a minimum of six Charter Oak credits in the fall and spring semesters. This will allow the student to graduate in five years, if attending part-time. Students can take more courses at the reduced rate and graduate earlier, take courses in the summer, or take additional courses as applicable at NCC, as long as they adhere to the requirements.
Both NCC and Charter Oak are accredited by the New England Association of Schools and Colleges.
