Marion Andersen Greene 84, (aka Merdoone and MooMoo) long time resident of Norwalk, CT was called home after a long illness. She passed at home surrounded by her loving family. She is survived by her husband of 61 years the Rev. Russell B. Greene, Jr., daughters Wendy Carter (Scott Carter), Lorrie Benko (Drew Benko), grandchild­ren Paige and Reed Carter, niece and nephew Todd and Lynne Petrocelli. She was predecease­d by her father, Captain Herman Andersen, mother, Aslaug Sandnes Andersen and beloved sister Barbara Petrocelli.

Marion was a proud first generation Norwegian American from Bay Ridge, Brooklyn and a graduate of Wagner College in Staten Island, NY. She was an elementary school teacher where she spent much of her career at Broad River School in Norwalk teaching Music and Art. Marion was an active member of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church where she sang in the choir, lead the woman’s group and helped with the children.

Marion was a fiercely devoted mother, grandmothe­r and wife. Her family meant everything to her. Her grandchild­ren were the true loves of her life. Marion had a warm and loving personalit­y and made a lasting impression on all she met.

Marion was a hard worker. She worked full time, kept a clean home and always had a good meal on the table. Marion was very handy and creative. She loved art and home projects. She could hang wallpaper, paint and craft with the best of them.

Most especially, Marion was always there when needed by her family. Her interest and questions for people around her, determinat­ion, humor and loyalty will be forever remembered.

Services will be private at a later date.
