After explosive devices and suspicious packages were found at a number of locations Wednesday, Metro-North Railroad officials said they would stay vigilant without disrupting regularly scheduled trains.

Authorities said pipes bombs were found in several areas, including at Hillary Clinton’s home in Westchester County, N.Y., former President Barack Obama’s office in Washington, D.C., CNN’s office in New York City and at George Soros’ New York compound. New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo said his office received a similar package.

Joseph J. Lhota, chairman of the Metropolitan Transportation Authority, issued a statement following the MTA’s board meeting Wednesday.

“Most important thing is — as you all know — we coined the phrase and own the phrase ‘If you see something, say something.’ It means more now and more today than anything,” Lhota said.

He said he had been in touch with MTA police and the New York Police Department discuss safety at Grand Central Terminal, Penn Station and along the Metro-North and Long Island Railroad lines.

“As you know, the MTA is an integral member of the joint terrorism task force and the joint operations center is in motion right now, and everybody is monitoring it,” Lhota said.

He said there had been no service reductions and that trains were making all their usual stops.
