Old trolley tracks delayed water main break repairs
NORWALK — Old trolley tracks found under the pavement during water main break repairs Thursday delayed crews from making necessary repairs.
South Norwalk Electric and Water said Wednesday that there would be an emergency water shutdown on Thursday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. to fix the water main.
The break happened in the Rowayton section of Norwalk and was expected to leave houses between 195 and 215 Rowayton Ave. and houses between 1 and 23 Cudlipp St. without water while repairs were under way. But around 3 p.m., the SNEW said repairs were taking longer than expected and would continue until around 7 p.m. Thursday.
Shortly after 6 p.m., SNEW said water was back on to all the affected customers.
