An­gelo Calise, age 78 of We­ston, died peace­fully at the Norwalk Hos­pi­tal on Tues­day, De­cem­ber 4, 2018. He was the lov­ing hus­band of Carol Good­fel­low Calise. An­gelo was born on Oc­to­ber 15, 1940 in Ischia, Italy, the son of the late Vito and Rosa Castaldi, and im­mi­grated to the U.S. in 1953. He was the hard work­ing and proud owner of Sowesco Distib­u­tors. An­gelo was a mem­ber of The Sons of Italy and was af­fec­tion­ately known as the “Mayor of Wood­ward Av­enue” in Norwalk by the fam­i­lies who rented his prop­er­ties there. He was a very devoted fam­ily man and es­pe­cially en­joyed Sun­day fam­ily din­ners. He will be dearly missed.

In ad­di­tion to his wife Carol, An­gelo is sur­vived by his chil­dren and spouses: Meg Perez, Sal­va­tore and Sara Calise, Roseann and Joe Caruso, Chris and Jes­sica Calise, his broth­ers Luigi and Gioacchino Castaldi of Ischia, Italy, grand­chil­dren Heather, Deanna, Bri­anne, Gabriella, Lindsay, Ni­cholas, Joseph and Is­abella, and many nieces, neph­ews and cousins. He was also pre­de­ceased by his in-laws Kenneth and Alice Good­fel­low.

A Mass of Chris­tian Burial will be cel­e­brated on Satur­day, De­cem­ber 8, 10 a.m. at St, Matthew Church, 216 Scrib­ner Ave., Norwalk, with en­tomb­ment to fol­low at Oak­lawn Ceme­tery in Fair­field. An­gelo’s fam­ily will re­ceive friends at the Mag­ner Fu­neral Home, 12 Mott Ave., Norwalk on Fri­day from 4-8 p..m. In lieu of flow­ers, do­na­tions in his name may be made to the St. Jude Chil­dren’s Re­search Hos­pi­tal, 501 St. Jude Pl., Mem­phis, TN 38105 (www. stjude.org).
