CNBC: Ama­zon en­acts safety rules

CNBC re­ported Fri­day that Ama­zon has alerted ven­dors sell goods of penal­ties it is putting in place for any ship­ments of pack­ages that

vi­o­late its safety stan­dards. Pos­si­ble trig­gers for fi­nan­cial penal­ties in­clude sharp ob­jects, leak­ing flu­ids, elec­tri­cal haz­ards, shoddy pal­lets and weight vi­o­la­tions. More than 40 Ama­zon ship­ments came un­der scru­tiny this year by the U.S. Depart­ment of Trans­porta­tion, with the new rules hav­ing taken ef­fect ex­it­ing Novem­ber.
