NORWALK — City police this weekend made two arrests for sexual assault in separate cases.

Thom Nikas, 32, was arrested at his residence on Hamilton Ave. and charged with sexual assault in the first degree and voyeurism. Executing a search warrant, detectives reported recovering images from his apartment that Nikas had allegedly taken of the victim.

Police said they also found other images of unknown females that appeared to have been taken in Nikas’s bedroom. They said they are attempting to identify the women in the pictures to find out if they were aware of being filmed.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the Norwalk Police Detective Bureau at 203-8543111. The lead investigator is Detective Courtney Downer.

Nikas is being held on $750,000 bond in connection with the September incident and is due in court on Dec. 14.

Detectives also arrested Nicholas Gutierrez-Tabor, 21, at his residence at 5 Sasqua Pond Road for an alleged sexual assault in the first-degree that occurred in May 2018.

Both men were arrested on Friday.

Police, who had executed a search warrant for Gutierrez-Tabor’s DNA, said lab results concluded that it matched evidence that had been recovered from the victim.

He was also charged with one count of unlawful restraint and is being held in lieu of a $750,000 bond and is due in court on Dec. 14.
