Richard Romano

Mr. Richard “Bobo” Romano, 88, of Norwalk, CT passed away peacefully at his home on Wednesday December 5, 2018.

Richard was born in Norwalk, CT on March 29, 1930 and was the son of William and Mary (Defeo) Romano. Richard was a US Army Veteran.

His most enjoyable employment was working in the Maintenance Department at Staples High School for 20 years where he is remembered fondly by many Colleagues and Students.

An avid athlete, and loyal sports fan, he attended each Staples High School Football Season after Retirement until his health began to limit him. He also supported UConn Women’s Basketball, The Mets and The Jets. He was active in the PAL and a friend to the Westport Fire Department.

Later in life, he generously gave his time to helping other elderly friends with errands and companionship.

Survivors include one niece: Lori (Romano) Day and her husband James Day of Wellfleet, MA. In addition to his parents he was predeceased by one brother: William A. Romano.

The family will receive friends in the Harding Funeral Home, 210 Post Road East, Westport, CT on Tuesday December 11, 2018 from 10:00 to 12:00. A funeral service in the funeral home will immediately follow at 12:00 p.m. Interment with full military honors will follow in St. John Cemetery, 223 Richards Ave., Norwalk, CT.
