Police: Pair arrested in fentanylla­ced drug operation

NORWALK — Two people are facing charges for running a fentanylla­ced drug operation out of a South Norwalk home, police said.

The Special Services Division raided the Grove Street home of 60yearold Larry Blackwell around 5 a.m. Thursday morning based on a lengthy investigat­ion into suspected drug dealing from the residence.

Police spokeswoma­n Sgt. Sofia Gulino said the department received a searchands­eizure warrant for the home after making multiple controlled buys of heroin from Blackwell.

During the raid, Gulino said officers recovered 23 wax folds containing fentanylla­ced heroin. As police entered the house, though, 50yearold Lori Frank, of Ward Street, Norwalk, rushed to the bathroom and flushed what police suspect was crack cocaine down the toilet, Gulino said.

Blackwell and Frank were arrested and charged with possession of a narcotic with intent to sell, conspiracy to possess a narcotic with intent to sell, possession of a controlled substance, conspiracy to possess a controlled substance, possession of a controlled substance within 1,500 feet of a school, conspiracy to possess a controlled substance within 1,500 feet of a school, possession of a controlled substance with intent to sell within 1,500 feet of a school, conspiracy to possess a controlled substance with intent to sell within 1,500 feet of a school, possession of drug parapherna­lia and risk of injury to a child.

Frank was also hit with additional charges for interferin­g with a search and illegal destructio­n of property.

Both were held on $100,000 bonds. They were scheduled to be arraigned Friday at state Superior Court in Norwalk.
