Five with Connecticut ties named Campbell Trophy semifinalists
Wesleyan linebacker Will Kearney, Sacred Heart running back Jordan Meachum and Yale offensive lineman Sterling Strother are among 185 semifinalists for the Campbell Trophy, often referred to as the Academic Heisman.
Madison’s Jack Driscoll, an offensive lineman at Auburn, and Wilton’s Quintin Harris, a quarterback at Duke, are also among the candidates.
The National Football Foundation will announce 1214 finalists on Oct. 30, and each of them will receive an $18,000 postgraduate scholarship.
