The Norwalk Hour

Taking issue with headline news stories

-

The Norwalk Hour on Monday, Sept. 30, was the most opinionated and biased issue in recent weeks regarding current events.

I’m submitting my opinions to as follows: Firstly, the article, “State Colleges Cut Personnel,” regarding cuts in personnel. The cost saving initiative. However, will that have a negative effect on the quality of education or the outrageous cost of higher education? Will the tuition costs decrease? How about cuts in the state administrative costs! Will we see reductions in administrative salaries? I think not.

Secondly, the front page article relating to reviving this issue into a some kind of social injustice regarding the circumstances belie the facts! True, the offense was warranted on the part of the those who violated the law by their influenced admission to institutes. However, there was no larceny involved as they still had to pay the exorbitant admission fees. The case of Tanya Mc Dowel has no comparison as she was a convicted felon and not worthy of front page coverage.

Next, the insistent emphasis on the President’s biased reporting. It was known from the outset that he was not a politician! “The good ole boys” have done everything they can to undermine, discredit all that he has proposed. He has been accused of being responsible for everything from worldwide socioeconomic events to the weather. Where will it end?

I would hope that all or any part of this submission will be published entirely or in part. Alex Nosevich Norwalk
