Custom colonial with character
Stamford home offers parklike living on quiet culdesac
This spectacular 57yearold custom colonial has contemporary appeal and sets itself apart from other homes in Stamford’s Westover section with its character and exceptional designer flair.
Located on a quiet culdesac, the home’s best feature is its great room, according to colisting agent Max Dober of Auslander Kasindorf Group/Keller Williams Realty.
“The great room is, by far, the most amazing place on the property,” Dober said. “It’s a grand space, but it feels so warm and inviting. It flows out to the backyard and the whole outdoor area is like an entertainer’s paradise.”
The Victoria Lane home — which sits on 1.07acres and has 4,202squarefeet —has a basement, main level, second level and a pulldown/walkin attic.
The finished basement is 508square feet and is where the storage and mechanicals are located.
Enter the twostory foyer on the main level and you’ll come to an office that overlooks the front yard. Near the office and straight ahead is the living room with woodburning fireplace, custom builtins and couch and chairs.
Down the hall from the foyer and on its left is the oneofakind great room. The room has vaulted ceilings and some areas of the room are two stories high. There is also a woodburning fireplace and dry bar with a builtin cooling drawer. The great room also has French doors that lead to the patio outside.
The openconcept kitchen is adjacent to the great room and left of the foyer. It has highend and brandname stainlesssteel appliances and the countertops are quartz. The island has waterfall countertops and the eatin kitchen area can sit at least six comfortably. The kitchen also has large bay window that, Dober said, “let’s in a lot of natural light.”
Continue left of the foyer and there is another wing of the house. That wing has the twocar garage and a pantry. There is also a newly renovated mudroom, laundry and full bathroom. “Basically, there is another room, an extra room or a bonus room that can be used as a bedroom,” Dober said.
The master suite is located on the first level and to the right of the foyer.
The master offers a large walkin closet and a spacious master bathroom. The cabinets in the bathroom are white and the walls are gray. There is also a double vanity; hydro tub; and large walkin steam shower.
Also, to the right of the foyer is a coat closet and a renovated powder room.
The second level includes three spacious bedrooms all, Dober said, with plantation shutters. All the bedrooms on second level have California closets and one of the bedrooms has its own little den space and en suite bath.
One bonus, Dober said, is that the wood bannister at the twostory foyer is painted. It also has a bold glossy black finish. “It adds a nice contemporary element to the house,” Dober said.
