Hospitalizations rise by 5; state deaths hit 3,742
Connecticut broke its string of 19 consecutive days of declining hospitalization rates on Monday, with a net increase of five patients statewide, the state Department of Public Health announced.
An additional 49 fatalities brought the total dead in the coronavirus pandemic to 3,742, while the total hospitalized with COVID-19
rose to 706.
On April 22, the total hospitalized reached its highest point at 1,972, when 1,544 had died, with 121 deaths totaled overnight. At that time, there were 22,469 total reported cases. On Monday, the DPH reported 40,873 cases, which increased by 405 cases since Sunday.
