Designed by noted architect Alfredo DeVido, this lavishly renovated contemporary in the middle of north Stamford is the perfect fit for any family.

“The architecture is just spectacular. They say your best life begins with a home that inspires you. Well, this home fits that bill,” said listing agent Larry Palma of William Pitt Sotheby’s International Realty.

The 43-year-old home – which boasts 10 rooms, is 4,413square feet and sits on 1.63acres – was completely renovated in 2012. That included all new doors and windows; a new roof; limestone and radiant heated floors and a new kitchen designed by Deane.

The grey home – which has four beds and 3 ½ baths – has a basement and two levels.

The only finished room in the basement, Palma said, is the temperature-controlled wine room. There is one wine room for display and another wine room that can fit 500 bottles.

To the left of the foyer on the main level, Palma said, is the open concept great room and dining area with 25-foot cathedral ceilings with motorized skylights. The area also has industrial ceiling fans and oversized picture windows with views of the pond. And, Palma noted, the great room and dining room each have French doors to a Brazilian ipe hardwood deck.

Directly to the right of the foyer is a hall closet and powder room with a floating toilet, Palma said.

The door to the gourmet kitchen, he said, is also located right of the foyer. The kitchen has walls of glass and views of the property. It has name-brand appliances including two Miele dishwashers, a Viking professional six-burner gas cooktop, a double Viking professional oven with one of them having a combination convection and steam oven, a Sub-Zero refrigerator and a separate full-length SubZero refrigerator. There is also a center island and four people can sit in the kitchen area.

“One of the cool features in the kitchen area is an appliance garage. It has tambour doors – like a stainless-steel door – that has sliders to conceal your small appliances when you are entertaining,” Palma said. “It’s a really cool kitchen.”

The family room to the right of the kitchen has sliders to a small deck and an outdoor dining area where you can seat four comfortably. There is also a walk-in pantry next to the kitchen and a mud room next to the family room. That mud room, Palma said, offers a motorized doggie door. The two-car garage is nearby, Palma said.

The second level, he said, has four bedrooms including the master suite.

The master, Palma said, has vaulted ceilings, a ceiling fan and picture windows looking over the great room and out to the property. There is also an adjacent home office with custom cabinets and a desk. And, to top it off, the master has a “huge walk-in closet with custom polyform cabinets and a motorized clothing valet by Servetto,” Palma said.

The master bath, he said, has a whirlpool tub and steam shower, designer medicine cabinets and lighting. The bathroom is white with mahogany cabinets.
