Joseph Santorelli passed away peacefully on April 9, 2021 after a courageous battle with dementia and lymphoma. He is survived by his wife, Barbara, of 57 years, daughter, Tracy Walsh and two grandsons Cameron Walsh(fiancee Allison Dewey) and Tyler Walsh. He is also survived by his sister-in-law, Wanda Santorelli, and numerous nephews and nieces. He was predecease­d by his brother Carmine Santorelli, Sr., his mother Jean Biondolill­o and father, John Santorelli. Born on July 16,1934 and raised in New York, Joe moved to Norwalk as a teenager. He joined the United States Army in 1951 and served in the Korean War. He worked over 40 years for BOFFA/Gary Beer/ Star Distributo­rs. In retirement, he worked as a security guard at GE Capital in Stamford, CT. If you were looking for Joe, you would find him every morning working out at the Norwalk YMCA and local gyms. He made many friends over the years over morning coffee either at a local place in Norwalk or in Rhode Island when he visited his family to watch his grandsons play baseball or hockey. He enjoyed time at the beach, loved to watch old time boxing and movies, and was one of the New York Yankees biggest fans. The family extends a heartfelt thank you to Dr. Daniel Boxer, his nurse Kerry, and his staff for their above and beyond care over the last two years.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, April 15, 10:30 a.m., at St. Matthew Church, 216 Scribner Ave., Norwalk. Masks and social distancing are required as well as registerin­g ahead at church. Burial with full military honors will follow at St. John Cemetery. Mickey’s family will receive friends at the Magner Funeral Home, 12 Mott Ave., on Thursday from 8:30 to 10 a.m. In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to St. Matthew Recreation­al Center Building Fund, 216 Scribner Ave. Norwalk, CT 06851.
