Robert M. Prescott (affectiona­tely known as “Bocce Bob”), 86, husband of the late Carole S. Prescott, whom he was married to for 61 years, died peacefully Thursday, November 18, 2021 at his home surrounded by his loved ones.

Born on March 25, 1935, he was a lifelong Norwalk resident and son of the late Marshall and Goldie Prescott. Mr. Prescott attended Fairfield Prep, Class of 1953 and graduated from Fairfield University, Class of 1957. He later worked as a corporate accountant at Perkin-Elmer Corporatio­n for 36 years.

“Bocce Bob” was well loved and respected in the community by all who had the pleasure of meeting him. He was very active in youth sports, coaching his children in youth football, baseball, and basketball. He was an avid UCONN Women’s Basketball fan and loved playing his favorite lawn game Bocce with family and friends at various gatherings.

Bob could always be found attending his children’s, and later his grandchild­ren’s, various sporting events and school activities. He had a love for Norwalk High Sports and received an award as the NHS #1 Lacrosse Fan.

Bob was a wonderful father to his children, Donna and her partner Mark Giumarra of Redding, CT, Michael and his wife Lynne of Norwalk, Edward and his wife Jennifer of Norwalk, Eric and his wife Kathy of Norwalk, Paul and his wife Laura of Ellicott City, MD, Tracy and her husband Glenn Davis of Westfield, MA, 17 Grandchild­ren and 5 Great-Grandchild­ren. He is also survived by his sister, Dolores Fiedler, her husband Erik and family.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, November 29, at 10 a.m. at St. Matthews Church, 216 Scribner Avenue, Norwalk. Interment will follow at St. John Cemetery, 223 Richards Avenue, Norwalk.

In lieu of flowers, contributi­ons in his memory may be made payable to Norwalk High School, and addressed to: Athletic Department, Norwalk High School, 23 Calvin Murphy Drive, Norwalk, CT 06851.
