Haven Hot Chicken plans new location in Norwalk
Haven Hot Chicken is growing again. The restaurant specializing in Nashville hot chicken (and vegetarian “not chicken” options) will open its third location in Norwalk, with plans for a 2,500-squarefoot restaurant at 596 Westport Avenue.
Like its first two spots in New Haven and Orange, Haven Hot Chicken will offer crispy fried chicken and fried cauliflower in five different spice levels, ranging from no-heat “country” to “Haven” (“for the hot head.”)
Menu items include sandwiches, tenders, sliders and chicken and waffles, and sides like fries, creamy vinegar slaw, garlic-dill pickles, mac and cheese and banana pudding. A snack list features sliders and fried cauliflower nuggets, and Haven also runs seasonal, limitedtime only specials, like a recent “hot chicken parm” with red sauce, mozzarella and spicy cherry pepper relish.
“The time has come for us to expand outside of New Haven County and serve a new area of the state, Fairfield County,” said co-founder Rob LaTronica in a statement. “While we have met many members of our new community who have made the trip to Orange or New Haven to enjoy our awardwinning chicken or ‘not chicken,’ we are excited to put down roots in this new area, with a convenient quick-stop location offering ample parking and a large delivery area for residential addresses, hotels and office buildings!”
Haven Hot Chicken first debuted in New Haven in October 2020, and just opened its second restaurant in Orange on June 18.
While the first two restaurants focus on takeout and delivery, the Norwalk location will also offer dine-in seating for about 25 guests.
