A look at some of the top performers in girls soccer from the CIAC state tournament:

Sara Parker, St. Joseph: Scored twice in the Class L state final, a 3-0 win by the Cadets over Notre Dame-Fairfield. Annabel Edwards, Staples: Had a hat trick in a 7-minute stretch in the second half to help the Wreckers defeat Cheshire 4-0 and win the Class LL state championsh­ip. Laney Smith, Mercy: Scored twice to help the Tigers defeat Northwest Catholic 3-1 to win the Class M state championsh­ip.

Alexa Pino, St. Joseph: Scored six goals in an 8-0 victory over Holy Cross in the Class L second round.

Gabby Tirado, Cheshire: Scored both goals in the Rams’ 2-1 win over Ridgefield in the Class LL semifinals.

Anya Tancil, East Catholic: Scored both goals in the Eagles’ 2-1 win over Thomaston in the Class S semifinals. Sophia Coer, Thomaston: Scored with 21 seconds left in overtime to lift Thomaston over St. Paul in the Class S quarterfin­als.

Emily Walker, St. Paul: Had a hat trick in a 6-0 win over Capital Prep in the Class S opening round. She had the only goal in a 1-0 win at Morgan in the second round. Megan Gallagher, Mercy: Gallagher had a hat trick in Mercy’s 7-0 win over Griswold. Gallagher scored all four goals in a 4-0 win over East Hampton in the second round. Lily Castle, Lewis Mills: Her hat trick helped Lewis Mills defeat HMTCA 7-1 in the Class M opening round. Keriana Heredia, Plainfield: Scored four goals in Plainfield’s 7-0 win over Internatio­nal/AAE in the Class M opening round.

Jess Carr, Southingto­n: Scored twice in the Blue Knights’ 6-0 win over Naugatuck and added two more in a 4-0 second-round win over Trumbull.

Paige Shaughness­y, Fairfield Warde: Had a hat trick in a 6-0 win over New Britain in the Class LL opening round. Tess Ferrie and Bryce Infantino, Branford: Ferrie had a hat trick and Infantino had two goals and two assists in the Hornets’ 6-0 win over North Haven.

Stacey Casorla, Sheehan: Scored the game’s only goal in overtime in a Class M first-round win over Lauralton Hall. Angelica Tompkins, St. Bernard: Had a hat trick in the Saints’ 5-1 win over Coginchaug in the Class S second round.
