Norwalk police: One killed in Sunday morning crash

NORWALK — A person was killed in a crash on Dr. Martin Luther King Drive Sunday morning, according to Norwalk police.

Officers were called to the crash, which occurred just south of the road’s intersecti­on with Lowe Street, soon after 8 a.m., Lt. Terrence Blake said in an email.

“Arriving officers found a single vehicle accident with four persons injured. Norwalk Hospital Emergency Medical Service transporte­d three occupants to the Norwalk Hospital. One occupant was deceased at the scene,” Blake said. “The identifica­tion of the deceased person is being withheld pending the notificati­on of next of kin.”

The road was closed for several hours before being reopened around 5 p.m., according to a Twitter post by the Norwalk Police Department.
