Holiday rail show returns to Stamford

- By Christian Abraham

STAMFORD — After a two-season shutdown due to COVID-19, the holiday train show returned this weekend to Stamford.

The Stamford Model Railroad Club opened its doors once again on Saturday. It will also be open on Dec. 3 from 1 to 5 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m.

The 83-year-old club’s 150’ x 50’ 0-Scale operating model train layout is one of the largest on the East Coast. Highly detailed passenger and freight trains run through equally detailed city and countryside; as always the colorful Circus and Holiday trains are crowd favorites.

The train exhibit is located in the basement of St. John’s Episcopal Church, 628 Main St., Stamford.

Admission is $5 for adults, $4 for children and free for those under 5. For more information, visit www.stamfordmodelrailroadclub.com
