NORWALK — Police have identified a city resident as the person who was killed Sunday in a crash on Martin Luther King Jr. Drive.

Norwalk police said Oscar Abraham Valdovinos was killed in the crash around 8 a.m. Sunday.

Emergency personnel responding to a report of a serious crash found a “large debris field” and at least one passenger had been thrown from the one-car crash, Norwalk police said.

Valdovinos, who was a passenger in the vehicle, was pronounced dead the scene, police said. Three other occupants of the car, including the driver, were taken to Norwalk Hospital and are expected to recover, police said.

Preliminary findings indicate excessive speed was a contributing factor in the crash, Norwalk Police Lt. Joe Dinho said.

The investigation is being conducted by a crash reconstruction team, the Crime Scene Unit and the Detective Bureau, Dinho said.
