- By Christine Butterfield

Kentucky quarterback Will Levis, a Xavier graduate, said in an interview on Twitter late Wednesday night that he intends to declare for the 2023 NFL Draft.

Levis, a Madison native, does have an extra year of eligibility since the 2020 season was disrupted due to the COVID pandemic, but said he intends to take his talents to the professional stage.

He has yet to announce whether he will play in the

Wildcats’ bowl game.

“I’ll make an official announcement once I feel it’s necessary and appropriate,” he said. “But I do believe after this year I’ll be declaring.”

The potential top-five pick stands at 6-foot-3 and 235 pounds and has been compared, stylistically, to Tim Tebow and Dak Prescott.

This past season for Kentucky Levis has a 65.4 completion rating, throwing for 2,406 total yards with 19 touchdowns and 10 interceptions for a quarterback rating of 151.9.
