The Orange Meadows Shopping Center will be getting two new tenants later this year.

Bob’s Discount Furniture and Ulta Beauty will be moving into the shopping center later this year, according to town officials. Orange Meadows is located at the intersection of Peck Lane and Boston Post Road.

Annemarie Sliby, executive director of the Orange Economic Development Corp., said Bob’s Discount Furniture will be moving into space that was formerly occupied by Julia’s Bakery and Anytime Fitness. Julia’s Bakery closed at the end of 2022 after 32 years in Orange.

Ulta Beauty will occupy about 11,000 square feet of space in the shopping center that previously had been leased by women’s clothing retailer Talbots, Sliby said.

Bob’s is moving into the Orange Meadow center this fall, according to Chris Day, senior vice president of real estate for the Manchesterbased furniture retailer. Bob’s has had a store in Orange since 1995, Day said, when it opened its location at 515 Boston Post Road, just a short distance away from Orange Meadows.

“The new location provides Bob’s the opportunity to provide our customers and store associates with a fresh new store to shop and work in within a market where we are well-known,” Day said. “The existing store is 28,000 square feet on two floors and the new store will be approximately 24,000 square feet on one level. A one-level store is always our preference and we look forward to setting up the new store and showing our customers our fresh new look.”

Another benefit of the new location, he said, is that it will have more parking spots than the current location. Orange Meadows has parking for 551 cars.

Orange Meadows is anchored by Trader Joe’s and TJMaxx, and the presence of those two retailers will provide Bob’s with more foot traffic than its current location, Sliby said.

Sliby said she is uncertain which of Ulta Beauty’s existing locations will be relocating to the Orange Meadows space. The two closest existing Ulta Beauty locations to Orange are in the Connectricut Post Mall in Milford and the former Westfield Trumbull Mall.

With the arrival of the new tenants, Orange Meadows will be fully occupied, according to online leasing material from the owner of the shopping center, Greenwich-based Urstadt Biddle Properties. Officials with Urstadt Biddle were not immediately available for comment on exactly when the two new stores will be opening.

The relocation of Bob’s also puts the store on the same side of the Boston Post Road as some of its retail furniture competitors. There are nine furniture stores within a mile of the Peck Lane-Boston Post Road intersection and most are located on the south side of Boston Post Road, which Sliby said makes it easier for consumers to comparison shop.
