Osvaldo Ruggieri, 81, beloved husband of Erminia (Taliercio) Ruggieri of Norwalk peacefully entered the gates of Heaven on Monday, March 6, 2023 surrounded by his family. Born in Itri, Italy on March 26, 1941, he was the son of the late Antonio and Immacolata (Saccoccia) Ruggieri. He was also predecease­d by his sisters, Rosalia Tuccinardi, Dirce Meroli, and his brothersin-law, Angelo DiCostanzo, Vincent Taliercio and Giacomo Tuccinardi.

Osvaldo served in the Italian Army prior to immigratin­g to America in 1964. He worked for more than 30 years with his brother as coowner of B&O Woodworkin­g. He enjoyed spending time with his family, his many friends, fishing, hunting, playing bocce, cruising the Caribbean Islands and could be seen delivering pizzas around town; a lifetime member of the St. Ann Club of Norwalk.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his four children, Anthony (Tara) Ruggieri of Norwalk, Jeffery Ruggieri of Norwalk, Diana (Robert) Terita of Trumbull, and William (Kristen) Ruggieri of Norwalk. Seven grandchild­ren, who he adored, Sara, Stephenie, Sophie, William, Lorenzo, Bevin and Gabriella. He is also survived by his siblings,

Bruno (Enza) Ruggieri and Isabella Ruggieri of Norwalk, Francesco (Anna) Ruggieri of Itri, Italy and many nieces and nephews.

The family would like to express their sincere thanks to the staff at Norwalk Hospital and his team at the Hospital For Special Care.

Calling hours will be held on Thursday, March 9, from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Collins Funeral Home, 92 East Avenue, Norwalk, CT. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, March 10, at 10:00 a.m. At St. Matthew Church, 216 Scribner Avenue, Norwalk. Interment will follow at St. John Cemetery, 223 Richards Avenue, Norwalk.
