Robert Douglas Flynn

Robert “Bobby” Douglas Flynn Sr., 73, passed away on July 24, 2023. Bobby was born January 31, 1950, in Norwalk, Connecticut, a son of William Flynn and Barbara Raymond Marzolf. Bobby was preceded in death by his father, William Flynn, his brother Kevin Flynn, his beloved “Nana” Raymond and brother-inlaw Dave Seirup.

Bobby is survived by a large and loving family, including his wife Debbie Flynn; son Bob Flynn (Maria); daughter Dana Maldonado (Bartolo); his mother Barbara Raymond Marzolf of East Norwalk, CT; his grandchildren, Tim Flynn, Danielle Flynn, Eddie Flynn-Maldonado, Christian Flynn, and Caleb Maldonado; his sister Maureen Flynn Seirup; and his brothers Tom (Terry) and Bill Flynn (Patty).

Bobby was known for his hearty laugh and he knew how to make people laugh. He enjoyed playing poker and pinochle with his family. Bobby was so attentive to the kids in the family. He was the best grandfather and his nieces and nephews were crazy about him.

Bobby graduated from Norwalk High School and attended Norwalk Community College for AccountLabor

Studies.

Bobby was a member of Teamster’s Union Local 191 for 36 years starting as a steward at Herbert Fuel. After that, he worked as a Business Agent, Union Trustee, Recording Secretary, President, and Health Services Trustee. Lastly, Bobby worked as the Secretary/Treasurer for Teamsters Union Local 191 until he retired in December, 2016. He was very involved in Pop Warner football and with Norwalk Athletic Assoc. He served in the US Marine Corps.

A mass will be held to honor Bobby on Saturday, August 12, 2023, at 10:00 AM at St. Thomas the Apostle Church, 203 East Ave., East Norwalk, where Bobby was an altar boy during his youth. A gathering will be held immediately following the mass.
