Taylor Brennan, Pomperaug: Scored 23 points including making four 3pointers and added 16 rebounds in a 60-49 victory over New Milford. Kate Cimador, Ludlowe: Had 18 points, including four 3-pointers in a 57-43 win over New Canaan. Kanyla Dingle, Whitney Tech: Had a team-high 11 points in a 32-30 overtime win over Abbott Tech.

Cam Froehlich, Danbury: Scored 19 points and had six steals in victory over Westhill and 18 points and seven assists in win against McMahon. Juliette Nichols, Nonnewaug: The senior had 25 points and five steals in a 44-34 win over Wheeler. She also had 26 points and 10 rebounds in a win over Wamogo.

GAMES TO WATCH

Windsor at No. 4 Newington, Friday 5:30 p.m.: Windsor is heating up after a slow start. This game pops off the page as two state MVP candidates go head-to-head in Ayanna Franks of Windsor and Bela Cucuta of Newington.

Masuk at New Milford, Friday 6 p.m.: Masuk has started the season on fire at 11-1 but the schedule gets tougher in the second half of the season starting with a game at the defending SWC champion.

No. 10 Ridgefield at Warde, Saturday, 4 p.m.: The Tigers have to play Stamford and then Warde as the three schools jockey for position behind FCIAC leader, unbeaten St. Joseph. These teams boast two of the stingiest defenses in the state.
