Micke Grove Heritage Day
Heritage Day, an event designed to give museum visitors a taste of pioneer country life, is being conducted Saturday, July 28 at the San Joaquin County Historical Museum.
On hand for this family event will be the Critter Corral with farm animals to pet. Also, docents dressed like pioneers will be on hand to teach school lessons inside the Calaveras Schoolhouse and help children make rope, pan for gold, wash clothes on washboards and watch a blacksmith work. Children also will be able to get a ride on a wagon pulled by a tractor.
Heritage Day will be held from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the museum in Micke Grove Park south of Lodi, about one mile west of Highway 99 and south of Armstrong Road.
In addition to the event activities, visitors will enjoy the museum’s many exhibits including the Innovations in Agriculture exhibit on key county crops and the museum’s extensive collections of tractors, agriculture equipment and tools.
