Volunteers must attend a free training workshop and will be assigned to survey areas within the Rouge River Watershed several times a month March through June. • The Michigan Department of Natural Resources’ annual frog and toad survey seeks volunteers. Participants are asked to survey sites and wetlands across the state for frog and toad calls. Volunteers are required to visit their sites three times during the spring months, when the amphibians are actively breeding. Recordings of each species’ call can be found on the DNR website.
