Ages 21 to 29

A Pap test should be done every three years for women in this age group. It’s primarily used as a screening tool for cervical cancer, which kills more than 4,000 women each year. At this stage, a screening for cancercausing HPV (human papillomavirus) is only necessary if the Pap test is abnormal.
