Berkley edges Oxford in OT

Boys basketball BERKLEY 51, OXFORD 50, OT

Berkley came away with a thrilling OT victory over Oxford on Friday night, 5150.

Arshad Walker had 17 points to lead the Bears, including the game-winning points. Jacob Thomas added 11, while Joey McNamara had 12.

Mason Mulholland scored 19 points to lead the Wildcats.

LAKE ORION 41, TROY ATHENS 34

The Lake Orion boys basketball team avenged a previous loss to Troy Athens on Friday, besting the Red Hawks 41-34.

Alden Ritt had 22 points to lead the Dragons (6-2) in the win, while Brennan Jones had 10 points.

OAK PARK 55, CLARKSTON 47

The Oak Park boys basketball team earned a big OAA Red win on Friday, besting Clarkston 55-37.

Bwana Miller had 17 points to lead the Knights in the win, while Keon Henderson had 12 points and seven assists. Ashton Henderson also scored 12.

KETTERING 53, MILFORD 43

Waterford Kettering improved to 3-4 on the season Friday night with a 53-43 win over Milford.

Jack Burch and Bennie Crenshaw each had 14 points to lead the Captains, while Caleb Roux scored nine.

BLOOMFIELD HILLS 43, SOUTHFIELD A&T 37

Bloomfield Hills fought its way past Southfield A&T on Friday in OAA action.

Ben Canty had nine points and six rebounds to lead the Black Hawks, while Derrick Lee Jr. had nine points.

WEST BLOOMFIELD 69, FARMINGTON 43

The West Bloomfield boys basketball team won a third straight on Friday night, besting Farmington 69-43.

Mitchel Seay led the Lakers with 18 points while Rishard Weaver scored nine.

SEAHOLM 52, AVONDALE 34

Birmingham Seaholm improved to 3-5 on the season Friday night with a 5234 win over Auburn Hills Avondale.

Jonny Cross scored 18 points to lead the Maples, while Charlie Bokos had 11.

ROCHESTER 74, FERNDALE U 57

The Rochester boys basketball team got to the .500 mark on Friday with a 7457 win over Ferndale University.

Matt Stone scored 22 points to lead the Falcons (4-4), while Mark Williams had 14.

MARYSVILLE 57, MADISON 49

The Madison Heights Madison boys basketball team fell to Marysville on Friday evening, 57-49.

Damian Harvey scored 13 points to lead the Eagles while Quentin Jones had 10 points and eight rebounds. Desmond Denham added 10 points as well.

CLINTONDAL­E 37, CLAWSON 33

Clawson was edged by Clintondal­e on Friday, 3733.

Alex Cordone led the Trojans in the loss with 15 points, while Zac Foster had 13.

Girls basketball SOUTH LYON EAST 44, WALLED LAKE NORTHERN 41

The South Lyon East girls basketball team escaped with another Lakes Valley Conference win on Friday, edging Walled Lake Northern 44-41.

Andie Wolfe had 14 points to lead the Knights in the loss, while Kelly Hickey scored 12.

BERKLEY 52, FARMINGTON 42

The Berkley girls basketball team picked up a 10-point win over Farmington on Friday night.

Ry Sanom had 18 points to lead the Bears in the win, while Ashley Loon had 13 and Sammi Withrow scored 10.

ROYAL OAK 48, SHRINE 35

In the annual city rivalry game, Royal Oak bested Royal Oak Shrine by a score of 48-35.

Sarah Soraghan had 15 points and four assists to lead the Ravens while Kira Vance had 11 points with six rebounds.

MERCY 60, LUTHERAN NORTH 26

Farmington Hills Mercy moved to 3-3 on the 2021 season Friday night thanks to a 60-26 win over Macomb Lutheran North.

Alexis Roberts had 11 points to lead the Marlins while Maddie Kenney had nine.

OXFORD 57, ROMEO 27

The Oxford girls basketball team put together a total team effort in a 57-27 win over Romeo on Friday night.

Peyton Richter had 10 points and seven rebounds to lead the Wildcats in the win. Emma Morris added eight points, while Makenzie Brown had seven points with 10 rebounds.

DAKOTA 44, SEAHOLM 43

The Birmingham Seaholm girls basketball team was edged by Macomb Dakota on Friday, 44-43.

Shay Manchester led Seaholm with 13 points and three steals. Annie Boogren added nine points and four rebounds.
