Wanted airman nabbed at Washington state border
A United States airman charged with criminal sexual misconduct out of Oakland County and desertion from Nellis Air Force Base outside of Las Vegas was arrested recently in Washington state as
he tried to cross the border into Canada, as reported by the Air Force Times.
Ian Mitchell Wilson, 20, was taken into custody Feb. 11.
According to the Air Force Times, Wilson was wanted by the Oakland County Sheriff’s Office and the U.S. Marshals Service for criminal sexual misconduct
on an incapacitated victim. The sheriff’s office issued the warrant for Wilson’s arrest on Feb. 9. A second warrant for desertion was issued Feb. 10 by the U.S. Air Force.
Extradition to Michigan is anticipated.
