More sex crimes — one involving a child — have been filed against a Farmington Hills urologist affiliated with youth hockey organizations.

The new charges against Zvi Levran, MD include second-degree criminal sexual conduct for the alleged assault of a 14-yearold boy in Farmington in January 2018 and fourthdegree criminal sexual conduct for the alleged assault of a 30-year-old man in December 2020 at Levran’s Farmington Hills home.

That ups the total to nearly two dozen criminal allegations against Levran, who has been in the Oakland County Jail for weeks. Multiple bonds are set, totaling more than $2 million.

Zevran’s other charges include:

• Two counts of first-degree criminal sexual conduct-personal injury filed in Bloomfield Township’s 48th District Court

• One count of second-degree criminal sexual conduct, five counts of third-degree criminal sexual conduct and 11 counts of fourth-degree criminal sexual conduct that allegedly occurred at his home office in Farmington Hills, filed in Farmington Hills’ 47th District Court.

Levran is affiliated with medical offices in Farmington Hills, Livonia and West Bloomfield, and has also practiced medicine in Ohio, Minnesota and Georgia.

Along with his licensure in those four states, Levran has been licensed to practice medicine in Iowa, according to Farmington Hills Police Chief Jeff King.

The case against Levran unfolded on Oct. 18 when a 19-year-old man came to the Farmington Hills Police Department to report an alleged sexual assault that he said happened during a medical exam at Levran’s home office. An investigation led to the first seven charges filed against him. A few weeks later, he was arraigned on 10 more charges based on four new criminal complaints. Next came the two West Bloomfield charges, and now, the additional Farmington/Farmington Hills charges.

After the first set of charges were filed, King said a 24-hour tip line had received dozens of tips reporting “similar suspicious and potentially criminal incidents” involving Levran in multiple jurisdictions in Michigan, other states and Canada.

Multiple law enforcement agencies at state and national levels are involved in the ongoing investigation. King and Oakland County Prosecutor Karen McDonald strongly encourage any potential victims or anyone who has information related to allegations against Levran to come forward. The 24-hour tip line can be reached at 248-871-2610.

As stated in a Dec. 8 news release from the Oakland County Prosecutor’s Office: “Our office applauds the diligent work of the Farmington Hills Police Department, and all the various law enforcement agencies collaborating on this case.”
