Michigan Army National Guard hosts aviation recruiting event to raise awareness of opportunit­ies

The Michigan Army National Guard (MIARNG) hosted an aviation recruiting event, “Meet the Guard,” at the Grand

Ledge Armory on

March 1 to expand awareness of opportunit­ies available in the Michigan Army National Guard, according to a press release.

The event was open to members of the public and was geared towards individual­s interested in pursuing opportunit­ies and benefits of serving with Army Aviation. Occupation­al specialtie­s that were highlighte­d included pilots, crew chiefs, maintainer­s, mechanics and fuelers.

The event highlighte­d the benefits of serving in the Michigan National Guard for members and their families.

The event drew nearly 180 students from 18 different Michigan schools. Attendees received informatio­nal briefings and participat­ed in hands-on demonstrat­ions.
