Thefts at LA Fitness reported

Three thefts a couple days apart at LA Fitness on Maple Road in Troy were recently reported to police.

Two of the incidents reportedly happened on March 11, according to the Troy Police Department — one between 8 and 9 p.m. and the other between 8:45 and 9:10 p.m. In one case, a set of keys were reported stolen from a jacket left on the coat rack in the locker room while the victim was working out. In the other case, car keys were reported stolen from a gym locker; the keys were later found lying on the driver’s seat in the victim’s car but his wallet had been stolen from the console, police said. Attempts to make fraudulent charges of four of the victim’s credit cards were subsequently reported.

The third incident reportedly happened on March 13, between 7 and 8 p.m. The victim told polic she had locked her belongings in a locker, and approximately 30 minutes later she began receiving fraud alerts that her credit cards were being used.

The incidents are under investigation, police said.
