Local entrepreneur awarded Michigan’s SBA Small Business Person of the Year
Tiffany Klingensmith, president of Unconventional Solutions, Inc. (USI Groups) of Wixom, is the winner of this year’s U.S. Small Business Administration Michigan District Office’s Small Business Person of the Year award. Klingensmith will represent the state of Michigan at the 2024 National Small Business Week, to be held April 28-May 4, in Washington, D.C.
The U.S. Small Business Administration highlights the impact of outstanding entrepreneurs, small business owners, and community members from all 50 states and U.S. territories, during National Small Business Week (NSBW).
Klingensmith opened her business in 2002 — a women-owned, Michigan-based business that repairs, protects, and upgrades infrastructure with composite repair and high performance protective coatings, according to a press release.
In 2012, Klingensmith was able to purchase a building in Wixom for her headquarters with an SBA 504 loan.
Currently she has 17 employees with locations in Wixom and Springboro, Ohio. Klingensmith is also active with the Great Lakes Women’s Business Council, serving as a mentor to other women business owners.
