Celebrating 70 years: The Oklahoma City Orchestra League members were hosts to the annual Maestro’s Ball at the Oklahoma City Golf & Country Club. It was an exceptional evening of dinner and dancing to the music of the OKC Jazz Orchestra. The OCOL has been in existence for 70 years.
Maestro’s Circle: Jose Freede was inducted into the group’s “Maestro’s Circle.” She was chosen for her volunteer and financial contributions to the Orchestra League, the OKC Philharmonic and to the community. She was presented the Maestro’s Ball Medallion and a bouquet of flowers by the honorary chairman, Lee Allan Smith. Jose has been president of the OCOL (1973-74) and Show House Chairman. She has served on various boards throughout the years. Maestro Alexander Mickelthwate gave a Champagne toast to Jose.
Flowers/food: White ostrich plumes and white roses, anemones, orchids and berries were table centerpieces. Dinner was tenderloin steaks, shrimp, carrots and green beans and Baked Alaskas.
The committee: Judy Austin was chairman and the committee included Joan Bryant, John Cannon, Terri Cooper, Kristen Ferate, Brent Hart, Julia Hunt, Zhander P’Ng, Lisa Reed, Kirstin Reynolds, Matt Thomas,
Eddie Walker, Renate Wiggin and Wendi Wilson. Alex Cameron and Nicole Jia were emcees.
