Students need to file financial aid form

The Oklahoman (Sunday) - - NEWS -

Students who plan to attend college next fall should file the Free Application of Federal Student Aid as soon as possible. The federal deadline to file the FAFSA is June 30, but students who delay can miss out on money from the state or the college they plan to attend.

Applications are processed and the results are sent to the colleges listed on the form. The FAFSA serves as the application for most of the financial aid from federal and state programs and from colleges and universities.

Current students also need to fill out the form because it must be submitted each year.

The quickest and most accurate way to file is online at FAFSA. ed.gov. The online form displays only the data entry fields students need to complete and gives directions as they are needed. The FAFSA site is also available in Spanish.
