Shirley Margaret Kluck Kraeger Driskill, born in Hinsdale, IL on Feb. 21, 1931, left this earth to be with our Lord and Savior on Dec. 16, 2018, following a seven-year battle with multiple myeloma. Shirley was preceded in death by her parents, Wilhelm Kluck and Maria “Mary” Benedeck Kluck; her husband, Earl Wendell Kraeger; her second husband, Roger Joe Driskill; her children, Paul William Kraeger and Theresa Marie Kraeger Hope; her brother, William "Billy" Kluck; and sister, Lorraine Marie Kluck Gordon. She leaves behind her son, David Wayne Kraeger and his wife Lori Ann Kraeger; her grandchildren, Hannah Cobb, Kassandra (Kassi) Hope, Trystan Hope, Zachary Kraeger, Aubrey Howard, and Colby Howard; three great-grandchildren; her niece, Cindy Houghton; nephews, Donald Gordon and Dean Gordon; sisters-in-law, Verna Hartmann and Emily Kosted; and brothers-in-law, Duane Kraeger and Russell Kraeger. Shirley moved to Oklahoma in 1942 with her family, later moving to Edmond with her husband, Earl. Shirley worked and ran the OSU student union beauty shop while Earl completed his degree in engineering and later built their home in Edmond. She and Earl adopted their three children and raised them with unconditional love, writing that this was her biggest and proudest life accomplishment. Shirley was a charter member of Peace Lutheran Church in Edmond and established a life around the church, through which she built lifelong friendships. Shirley enjoyed spending time at Lake Eufaula, floating the Illinois River with friends, being active in the Edmond Elks Lodge, painting, sewing, stamp collecting, gardening, stain glass, playing cards with friends, traveling with her husband, Roger, and later, with Friends International. Shirley was honored and proud to volunteer for Good Shepherd Hospice for many years. She was a founding member of the Concordia Life Care community and moved there in 2007. She very much enjoyed all the close friends she met and had at Concordia, in particular, her special friend and companion, Byron Hoon, who also preceded her in death.
