Report: Alabama transfer QB Hurts visits OU’s campus
Alabama quarterback Jalen Hurts, the most high-profile free agent in college football, visited Oklahoma’s campus Saturday, according to SoonerScoop.com.
Hurts is expected to transfer from Alabama after three seasons in Tuscaloosa. Hurts led the Crimson Tide to backto-back College Football Playoff appearances before losing the starting quarterback job to Tua Tagovailoa.
The Houston native completed 73 percent of his passes while throwing for 765 yards, eight touchdowns and two interceptions in a reserve role this season.
OU’s quarterback situation is in flux given Kyler Murray’s expected departure and the possibility that backup quarterback Austin Kendall will transfer.
Spencer Rattler, the No. 1 pro-style quarterback in the 2019 class, will arrive in Norman this summer.
Maryland and Miami are among the favorites to land Hurts.
