Morris, Spiller, Bush bargain picks

-

NFL wide receiver Danny Amendola is available, then grab them quick.

Other options have limitations.

Giants running back Andre Brown, who had 13 carries for 71 yards and a touchdown while filling in for Ahmad Bradshaw, might be worth getting for a one-week pickup. Bradshaw (neck) isn’t expected to play Thursday night against Carolina. Brown, though, still probably isn’t worthy of being in your starting lineup.

Miami Dolphins wide receiver Brian Hartline, who had nine catches for 111 yards and was targeted a dozen times, is worth a flier.

A few tight ends are worth grabbing if it’s a position you need to upgrade. Put Baltimore’s Dennis Pitta, who had eight catches on 15 targets, at the top of your list. Buffalo’s Scott Chandler and the Giants Martellus Bennett might be options.

Houston running back Ben Tate, if available, has some value. Arian Foster steals most of the carries, but Tate ran for 74 yards and two touchdowns in a win Sunday against Jacksonville.

St. Louis rookie running back Daryl Richardson played well after veteran Steven Jackson left with a groin injury. Richardson beat out Isaiah Pead but has little value if Jackson is healthy.

Don’t get too excited about San Diego running back Jackie Battle following a 69-yard, two-TD performance against the Titans. Chargers starter Ryan Matthews is expected to return next week.

pick: (pool members pick a “lock” every week; eliminated with one loss; can use each team only once): DALLAS. The Cowboys should take care of business against Tampa Bay. Since Dallas begins a tougher portion of its schedule starting week 4, this is the week to use the Cowboys.
