BUDDHIST ABBESS SET FOR EVENT
Shifu Jian Mao, abbess of the Buddhamind Monastery in Oklahoma City, will present a free dharma talk at 7 p.m. Thursday at West Wind Unitarian Universalist Congregation, 1309 W Boyd St.

PROGRAM PRESENTS LEADERSHIP TRAINING
Registration is open for a leadership training workshop sponsored by Norman Addiction Information and Counseling from 9 to 5 p.m. Feb. 1 at 215 W Linn St.
The workshop will emphasize effective communication and high performance coaching skills. Early bird registration is $89 but will increase to $109 after Friday.

LEGISLATIVE ADVOCACY TRAINING OFFERED AT NORMAN CHURCH
A legislative advocacy training workshop is being offered to the Norman faith community at 7 p.m. Jan. 30 at First Presbyterian Church, 555 S University Blvd.
Hosted by the Norman Justice Alliance and the Oklahoma Conference of Churches, the training includes a review of legislative terms, questions to ask regarding potential legislation, the path of a bill and other legislative processes.
